Hello Readers,
It’s been an exciting Spring so far in Phoenix! TWE gathered to go to an inspiring YWCA event honoring outstanding women in the community. Our intrepid podcast host Stacey Gualandi came in from Las Vegas to attend.

The YWCA is very active here and puts on a yearly Tribute to Leadership event promoting empowerment, peace and services that uplift individuals.

Our financial contributor Catherine Scrivano joined us to celebrate these talented leaders as she was one of the honorees one year. You can meet this year’s changemakers here; they are just outstanding.
Speaking of special occasions, we celebrated ultrarunner Molly Sheridan’s amazing marathon runs on 7 continents on a TWE Podcast recently.
This self-proclaimed “warrior goddess” joined Stacey a few years ago when she wrote her memoir “Running Past Midnight.” On this new zoom, Molly talked about her newest remarkable endeavor—running 7 marathons in 7 days and on all continents!
We wonder how this could be humanly possible, and she did it at 68! If you want to be motivated to do anything out of your comfort zone, you will be inspired by Molly’s feat. There is no quit in her. You’ll see when you watch. Just incredible!
Another trailblazer who just won’t give up or in is Alison Hall, a correspondent for Inside Edition newsmagazine.
When we heard about the crisis our television colleague had survived recently, we knew we had to spread her challenging journey on TWE. Finding out that she was in the very early stages of breast cancer while working on a story for the television program, she decided to have a double mastectomy.
Her courage through this painful medical diagnosis is extraordinary. She continues to be very public about her recovery on social media.
We salute Alison for all the help she continues to give women going through similar breast cancer challenges. You can follow her on Instagram if you want more information about what she is facing after the operation. Alison is astounded at the response she has gotten from women around the world since sharing her story.
As you know, we are big fans of novelist Natalie Jenner and have followed her career for many years now. She is back with a new Jane Austen inspired book, "Austen at Sea." Since this is the literary heroine’s 250th birthday year, Pat Caso wanted to check in with Natalie about her latest novel and plans to celebrate. How lucky are we to get to share one copy of her new book with you as you will see below!
Natalieis making her latest novel, "Austen at Sea," available now to a Women’s Eye reader.

BUTTERED APPLE TART FROM "DINNER WITH JANE AUSTEN"
A while ago I received a little book called “Dinner with Jane Austen,” menus inspired by her novels and letters by Pen Vogler. I’ve been dying to try this Buttered Apple Tart which is said to be loosely mentioned in Austen’s “Emma” and taken from the 1747 cookbook The Art of Cookery. Can you think of a more perfect time to make it than during this celebratory year?
I baked it for 40 minutes at 375 degrees, and into the fridge it went to set overnight. Strawberries were added to give it some color and pop. Try it and see how you like it. It’s amazing how recipes can endure over the centuries.

Closing With Advice From Ultrarunner Molly Sheridan:
“I don’t think I have any other talents than anybody else other than I wanted to go test myself and test human endurance. And I’m here to say, we CAN do so much more!”
