Hello Readers,
I am feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude as this year winds down and a new one emerges. How grateful am I to you readers who follow us regularly, and grateful also to the small band of journalists and merrymakers who work tirelessly to discover the inspiring changemakers and special women who share their stories with us.
We are a small team of dedicated storytellers who delight in spreading the words of those who want to do the best they can to improve the world. Their ideas and never-say-die attitudes impress us daily.
Here are thoughts and observations from just a few people we have featured on TWE this year:
“I want to live in a world where good people can succeed and finish first and be successful in their careers and their lives.”
“We need wonder for our civilization to continue thriving because without wonder we don’t have empathy; without empathy, we don’t have a civilization."
“The movie LILLY talks about how one ordinary person like Lilly Ledbetter can do an extraordinary thing, and that every single one of us needs to stand up for justice in every part of our life.
“I knew instantly that if I could help one other person, even to just go and take the test, or go get a mammogram or a screening test in any way—no matter the result—I knew that I wanted to be a part of that.”
“I am an average person. I don’t think I have any other talents than anybody else other than the fact that I wanted to go and test myself and test human endurance. And I’m here to say, we CAN do so much more!”
“Philanthropy is the $10 word. Other words we could apply are charity and generosity and those are not limited to wealthy people. Whatever we call it, we’re just talking about the impulse to give and to share.”
We thank them and you for giving us encouragement and inspiration. May 2026 be the peaceful year we are hoping for.
I came across this quote from Helen Keller, an American author born in 1880, a political activist and disability rights advocate. This heroine of mine was the first deafblind person to earn a bachelor's degree. Keller lost her sight and hearing after an illness at 19 months old. I wanted to share her positivity with you:
"You will succeed if you persevere; and you will find joy in overcoming obstacles.”
Our TWE changemakers have certainly overcome many challenges to attain their goals. We can’t wait to meet more in 2026, share their stories and together make a difference.
Until next time in 2026,
